Originally from New York, Dr. Kim attended medical school at the State University of New York in Stony Brook, Long Island. She then went on to train as a specialist in Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center. She graduated as Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery from LLUMC.

She has published scientific papers in medical journals such as the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. She is involved in clinical research projects, including a study of deformational plagiocephaly, the "flat" head shape that can sometimes be seen in newborn babies.

Dr. Kim has a personal interest in the history of medicine and was the recipient of a Humanities Scholarship to study at the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine in London, England. In addition, she is a strong advocate for women's health education.

"My goal is to be a source of open and honest information for my patients. I try to get to know each person as an individual, to really find out what they want. I like patients to be actively involved in their health care."

When asked what drew her to plastic surgery, she replies, "Plastic surgery is the perfect combination of art and science. For me, it is extremely rewarding to help people look and feel their best."

In her spare time, Dr. Kim enjoys reading, drawing, and cooking. She also loves to travel and has been to South Africa, Thailand, Korea, and much of Europe. Dr. Kim has had the privilege of being part of a surgical missionary team to Mexico with Operation Good Samaritan.
